Presidency Probes Army Over Alleged Human Rights’ Abuses

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has formally inaugurated a presidential panel to investigate allegations of human rights’ abuses against the armed forces.The panel, headed by Justice Biobele A. Georgewill of the Court of Appeal, has as members: Major-General Patrick Akem, Mr. Wale Fapohunda, Mrs. Hauwa Ibrahim, Mr. Jibrin Ibrahim – member, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwakama and a representative of the Office of the National Security Adviser. Nigerian Law School Shuns Court Order, Prevents Kayode Bello From Registering For Final Examination

The Nigerian Law School in Abuja has allegedly prevented Mr. Kayode Bello, the expelled law student from registering for his Part II Bar Examination, despite a pronouncement by the Federal High Court to the effect that he should be allowed to write the examination scheduled for August 15th, 2017. On duty of Police to provide security for all protesters

On the 22nd day of September 2003 the police disrupted the rally convened by the defunct All Nigeria Peoples’ Party (ANPP) to protest the rigging of the 2003 general election. The police authorities justified the disruption by claiming that the organizers of the rally did not obtai n a police permit.  Full story
